does celexa or lexapro work for anxiety?

i have sever anxiety that often lead to full blown panic attacks and im guessing a bit of depression because everytime i come dow off of an anxiety attack i feel down, crying, hopeless. Like I'm done with all this.

my doc gave me trazedone but i do not feel comfortable taking a sleep aid. From what i herd it does not help anxiety much.
I am looking more for lexapro or celexa to help me out. I have never been a big fan of meds since i took zoloft when i was 16 now 23 made me real sick, i just could not take the side effects. is this drug helpful and is it easy on the stomach?

Whatever you take watch out for side effects that may be worse than the anxiety.  Some of these medications work by "dulling down" one's mind.  This can be worse than the anxiety for some of us if it means we can no longer drive a car.. and I have seen that happen.  I am not relating specifically to the drugs you named, I would have to look for the name of the drug I believe was at fault in my wife's experience.

I will say that both have worked for my anxiety, but each medication works different in different people, trial and error.
