I have had chronic teeth grinding 24/7 since I can remember. I have jawbone, sinuses and ear problems, quite probably related. I have more partials than original teeth and grind them the same. I find I am constantly grinding, twitching or tensing and relaxing a muscle to some silent beat in my head like the racing thoughts. I make a conscious effort to control and stop the grinding but like the racing thoughts as soon as my attention is not solely focused on not grinding my teeth I suddenly realize that I'm doing it again. If you or anyone has come upon any helpful information referrals since on this subject, please share this info with me. Thanks.
It could be caused by several facors, not withstanding are stress, suppressed anger, frustration and/or medications. Chronic teeth grinding can result in a fracturing, loosening, or loss of teeth. The chronic grinding may wear their teeth down to stumps. You can wear a mouth guard that's available in most sports stores but if it continues, you should see your doctor. Good luck!
