I know that I am nervous as all get out. My doc took me off the 40mg Paxil and directly to 50mg Zoloft. I AM TERRIFIED, as I hate meds anyway....but I have suffered from debilitating Panic Attacks for 19 years, and Agoraphobia has gotten worse lately! I feel "broken" and no one understands it!
I know that when I have missed my Paxil in the past, I feel like my head is on a spring and bounces around, and I get vision issues accompanied by Panic Attacks.... I am PRAYING that this will be a smooth transition, and that Zoloft relieves some of these horrible issues! I also went and bought Self Help Books on Anxiety/Panic and Agoraphobia....because I know that out thought processes make things much worse! Wish me luck, and I wish you all the luck in the world! Keep us posted!
With the withdraws from paxil did you feel like your head was heavy and your vision was kinda weird?
Thank you all for the resposes , I really hope the zolft works for me I hate these panic attacks and allways feeling bad even when I wake up. But so far its been a week and feel a little better, just sill feeling some with draws from lowering the paxil. I really do feel alot better after hearing that I am not the only one. Thank you agian! :)
I have a VERY similar story!! I was on Paxil for about 8 years and it definitley helped a ton with my social anxiety but I had started getting panic attacks so I went to the doc and she switched me to Zoloft (it was a slow process as I didn't want to experience even more anxiety from w/d) but now that I am on Zoloft and have gotten used to it, I believe it is a much better match for me. It has made me experience a great deal of fatigue and I tend to want to sleep a lot more than usual but that is a side effect I'm willing to put up with as it has helped my panic attacks tremendously. It wasn't an overnight cure but I went from having a lot of panic attacks to only having a few and now I only have them few and far between...hope that helps...just remember to give it time :)
I've been on Zoloft for yrs.It works really well for me.I also have a script for Ativan.I only use that when needed. And thats not very often:) Zoloft works for anxiety and depression.
Zoloft can work great for many people that have anxiety. But, remember that we're all different and respond to these meds differently. How are things going during the transition?
