went out last day now all day my heart has been beating really fast?

I went out last night and had some drinks but today my heart beat has been really fast all day i had it a bit yesterday too? I feel brethless with it i am scared but i am trying to rationalise it and say it is a hangover. Usually my heartrate is 75 bpm today it has been 100bpm. It woke me up at five this morning iand i havn't slept since. I am not sure whether this is anxiety or not?  sorry i should mention i have been diagnosed with GAD and i am eighteen years old any ideas?xx

hey i am not on any medications but i do suffer with panick disorder like panick attacks and stuff aswell. i will just leave it for now because i am always at the docs and i think it is most probably due to drinking last night. Thankyou for ur responses. It is so hard not to immediately think that it is serious and critical ect xx

Hi dizzy,

First off i would say it is most likely to do with the drinks you had. If your on a anxiety med this will have a adverse reaction while drinking. Meaning your anxiety will Raise.

Ya get the good /up feeling with a drink, then ya come down.

I would be extremely careful in saying to yourself it is ok to have a couple of drinks while on any medication.

Best to you,
Snooze

Namaste,

Your racing heart could be the result of a number of things.  You din't mention any medication(s) you may be taking, but many of them don't take too well when you add alcohol to the mix, especially if you drank heavily.

Your high rate of BPM could be attributed to your GAD, but sounds similar to one of my symptoms when I am having a panic attack.

Now don't get paranoid and start thinking you're suffering from panic attacks as well as GAD.

I feel you just need to take some time and do something relaxing and see where that takes you. Meditate, do some yoga or take a nice bath. And relax.

If your symptoms don't subside or additional symptoms occur, such as difficulty breathing, pain/numbness in your arm, you may want to go to the ER, to err on the side of caution. Otherwise, if it's just your heartrate and it hasn't improved y tomorrow, contact your healthcare provider.
