Could I take a 0.5mg dose of Ativan prior to taking an 8 hour test for Ped. Advanced Life support?

I'm NOT a doctor, so understand this is just my opinion, but if you've been taking the Ativan for awhile and are use to the side effects, if you're still having any or HAD any, then I would say it would be fine. It may be just "what the doctor ordered" to help you relax to take an intensive test like the PAL.
If you still have any doubts, call your doctor or local pharmacist and ask them.
Good luck on your test! It's a tough one, but you'll do great!

Hi denise,

Please excuse my ignorance. But what is Ped. Advanced Life support?
Did you get your Ativan from your doctor? Then he/or she would have told
you if it was okay to take prior your test.
I do know for myself 0.5mg of Ativan is something I have to take prior to
any medical test ex. CT scan  and going to the dentist. It is not a high dose.

Hope this helps some.
