I had it too and had the barium X-ray and they found nothing. Just attributed it to my anxiety. It gets really bad if I drink anything carbonated for some reason, and sometimes spicy food will cause it to happen too. I agree that you should check with your doctor for you peace of mind, and then add it to your "symptoms" list. Ruling out disease really does help those of us with health anxiety by calming us down and reassuring us that nothing is wrong. Hope this helps and that you felt better today!

Yes, this is a pretty common symptom of anxiety. I had it last Oct-Dec and I've been suffering from it for the last month. Spoke to a therapist and she explained that it was anxiety. I had an upper endosocopy last November, they couldn't find anything preventing me from swallowing.
If you just want to make sure, ask your doctor for a swallow study. This is just an x-ray. They make you drink something and watch it go down in the x-ray.
Good luck!
I had that one time for quite some time yrs ago, I had it real bad it was caused by stress and anxiety. I had it checked out.
