I have been on 25:mg zoloft for a month now. Has anyone experienced concentration/memory issues while being on this Med?

Sertraline is one of the fastest antidepressants to reach therapeutic levels......which is the time it takes for the medication to begin having an affect. Many people begin to feel a slight lifting of the fog at about 1 week, but for some it can take a bit longer. At 4 weeks, if you are not feeling even a little better, normally your doctor would increase the dose, which most often does the trick. It's the bad headache part that urges me to suggest talking to your doctor. Headaches ARE a common side effect of sertraline, but we all have limits as to what we can and can't live with. You are on the lowest dose possible for this drug and unless the headaches are absolutely unbearable, I'd hate to see you give up on the Zoloft. You've already invested a month of your life.......it would be a shame if the headaches were just about to stop but your now on a new drug with new side effects. Many of us have had to try several ADs before we find one we tolerate well, but virtually all of them are going to have some side effects that you just have to live with until they go away. This is why those of us taking these types of meds need to be patient. But the bottom line is that you and your doctor, most especially YOU, are the only one who can make the decision about what you can and what you will tolerate. If you feel the Zoloft is not for you, it's not any kind of "failure." You try something else. The key is to not give up.
Best of luck

While beginning Zoloft, you may notice some very slight episodes of confusion, but that is more of a geriatric side effect and obviously is not the same as concentration/memory issues.
I have been on Zoloft for a few years now and it's a little difficult to remember exactly what I experienced when I first started taking it. The only thing I can clearly remember is that my mouth was very dry for a few weeks. Knowing me, if I had experienced trouble concentrating or memory problems, I would have called my doctor, which I didn't. So I'm guessing those were not problems for me.
The best thing you can do is call and/or see your doctor and discuss these side effects. If they are causing problems with your activities of daily living, then perhaps Zoloft is not the medication for you. We all react to medications differently and one of the things those of us taking antidepressants must be is patient. If you can live with the side effects for a couple more weeks, they should begin to lessen, If they don't, then it's time to consider a change.
The bottom line addressing your concern is simple, if you would feel reassured by speaking with your doctor now, then do it. The whole idea here is trying to help you feel better and that's not going to happen if you're getting stressed about side effects.
Take care of yourself first/
