Arthritis?

Im 41 years old. I wake up from time to time one of my legs totally from my hip to my toes...nothing. It happened recently & when I got out of bed no realizing my leg was numb I broke my foot. They did find arthritis on my spine. No MS lesions on the brain. Can arthritis do this? Is there something that can be done? I sleep with my cruthces by my bed because Im scared Im gonna wake up and both legs be paralyzed

I can relate to the fear of never regaining your previous capabilities.  It's scary waiting to find out all of the test results and diagnosis.  I think you are on the right track with docs you are seeing.  Be sure not to hesitate to get a second opinion if needed.

Right now I am seeing an orthopedic Dr & a neurologist. I have an appointment for an MRI this coming tuesday. They are treating me with steroids for the moment. I just found out my Vitamin D was very low so they have me on large doses of that too. The bone in my foot is healing up nicely but the feeling from the knee down still has not returned. Thank you for your suggestion with the pillows. I will give it a try :o) Thats a good idea. I think for the most part right now I am just scared I wont ever walk right again or it will get worse.

It sounds like your nerves are impacted by something going on in your back.  Have you tried sleeping with pillows to ease your back?  Body pillows are fab if you sleep on your side.  If you sleep on your back there are pillows that elevate your legs and bend your knees.  I have all kinds of pillows that I use depending on what is hurting me at the time.
What are they doing to treat you?  What kind of docs are you seeing?
