Studdering, from mixed medications?

my son is five years old and he has asthma, he is on  Flovent and Prednisolone for his lungs,(his doctor  just took him off singulair) but last year he got pretty sick and his doctor had him on Azithromycin, nasonex,Allegra,Albuterol sulfate,Singulair,Flovent, and Prednisolone.  three days into taking all the medications and he started to studder and really bad. i mentioned it to his doctor and she said that studdering is common for boys his age, and to this day he is studdering and very badly. i just wanted to see what you thought. thanks Leigh

Help your son to do  this pranayam for  5 minutes only, everyday. The extra oxygen going into the lungs will help very much. You can do it as well.
Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
Anulom Vilom pranayam –
Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed  deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 15 to 30  minutes twice a day.
Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.

than you, i starting taking my son to Shands in Gainesville,to a  pulmonary specialist. and she took him off everything but (Flovent and he takes that twice in the morning and twice at night)and(Prednisolone i keep on hand now just incase he gets really sick) I will look further into it, cause in my heart i really think all these medications mixed together messed his lil'head up on thinking and speaking. and just to think he is only five, i really hope it just goes away some day, it really hurts his feelings knowing he cant talk like everyone else, and before all these meds he was fine.

There are some medications that can cause some long term side effects (which may mitigate in time) such as tardive dyskinesia (a specific long term movement disorder for more information google "Patient Education Tardive Dyskinesia" note as the site itself says "some of these medications may be medically necessary") one variant of which is tardive tourettism which causes a person to have tics that can interfere with speech. If this started exactly with taking the medications and never stopped and on any of the prescription labels it states it can cause this it would be worthwhile to have him see a neurologist who is a movement disorders specialist who could potentially diagnose this (if this is what is happening depending) and then treat it.
