Is it Asthma?

I am 18 and I have been suffering from breathing difficulty for at least 6-7 years but it has got worse in the last couple years. Occasionally it may be accompanied by a slight yet piercing pain in the chest. Is it asthma?

Hi .. WELCOME to our Community!

You may want to repost on our resp. disorders expert forum http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Respiratory-Disorders/show/61 where a Dr. from Nati'l Jewish may be able to help you. We are patients on this community and unable to diagnose but I hope you feel better.  You should be seen by a physcian to make sure all is ok and meds, if needed, can be prescribed.

Let us know how you make out.

Occasionally blood comes out with cough
The problem does not seem to bother me when I'm occupied with something but seems to attack when I'm not busy- e.g before sleeping.

Please, the breathing is intolerable especially at night.
