Hi MKYMINI.
This thread is almost 3 years old, however, your reply may help some other members, if they read it.
Sorry about your ordeal. I was never a proponent of this immune balance challenge, as there were too many "loose ends".
Best wishes,
Niko
DON'T DO IT...I completely lost all of the hair on my head and all body hair after 4 days on X-Viromin. When I was prescribed the immune challenge, I already had an auto-immune disorder. After losing my hair and going to the dermatologist, I was diagnosed with alopecia (my immune system was attacking my hair follicles). Now I have to have steroidal injections in my scalp and I have to apply a steroidal foam to my scalp twice a day help my immune system from attacking my hair follicles and to get my hair to grow back. My 'Dr's' negligence was, knowing that I already had an auto-immune disorder, she did not do due diligence by requiring that I get an OK from my internist before giving me the immune challenge. I also had a friend who was seeing the same Dr and who had previously had cancer. She experienced pain in her cancer site while doing the immune challenge that went away when she completed the immune challenge. I can only say DON'T DO IT!!!
Hi: I have Hashimotos and adrenal fatigue. For AF, I find the herb Rhodiola Rosea tremendously helpful. I can prove it on myself with a bloodpressure/heartrate monitor. (when adrenals are bad blood pressure is low and HR is high, especially upon standing). Also used in Russia to treat anxiety/depression. I found a liquid herb gelcap by Gaia Herbs to be the most beneficial. I take one before bed, and one in the morning before rising. Helps me sleep better too. For Hashis, don't forget selenium. It lowers TPO antibodies. The proof is right there in studies on PubMed, 200 mcg. The herb Ashwaghanda is very helpful for Hashis. Again, use a liquid extract or liquid gelcap for best potency (Gaia Herbs). I buy online from Swanson Health products and pay about half of what a health food store charges
Food wise, soy makes my neck swell almost instantly. Dairy and gluten make me feel worse, but not as immediately as soy.
Beware of cardiovascular exercise if you have adrenal fatigue. It uses up the hormones faster than you can produce them. Weight training, yoga, pilates, tai chi are better choices. I am a personal trainer. I wore out my adrenals when I was an endurance athlete.
Best of luck to you. Hope this helps
I already had the test for TH1/TH2 and they were both overactive. Both supplements gave me major symptoms. I dont know how to find the foods list thats I should stay away from. Like why my immune systems both side would be overactive. I just dont get it LOL.. I have been ill for like 4 years now with swollen painful neck glands and joint pain and major fatigue, and low bp. My doc has given all sorts of supplements but nothings working, he thinks there is more auto immune diseases. I have about ready to pull my hair out..
Hi Bri941.
This challenge is based on the TH1/TH2 balance hypothesis, which has many fundamental flaws, and many immuno-therapies based on this theory, have produced mixed results.
The studies leading to this hypothesis, were based on research involving mice, as human cytokine activities rarely fall into exclusive pro-Th1 or -Th2 patterns! (There are too many variable factors)

There may be some positive results with Dr. Datis Kharrazian's protocol,
that encompasses balancing the overactive branch of the immune system,
among many other elements, however, the protocol does not work for everybody and the costs are very high.
(the required tests are very expensive!)
Have you looked into Iodine deficiency?. Just do the basic Iodine self- test.
Do a search for it . Very easy. Sometimes the solutions are so simple, they get easily overlooked.
Also Dr. Lam's website has a great tutorial on Adrenal fatigue.
Please post again for comments or if you have any questions.
Wishing you well.
Niko
The test is NOT 100% conclusive, only indicative.
As this has reached a dead end, you may want to explore other avenues.
Cutting out from your diet :
- wheat which a. triggers the immune systems: innate+humoral
b. triggers genetic expression of stress response
c. results in rapid rises of insulin levels
- gluten/wheat/barley/rye
- beans, peanuts, legumes (lectins)
- dairy (which contain opioid-like proteins )
may prove beneficial!
You may also do Dr. Coca's Pulse Test on your own,
as it will help you determine reactivity to any "offensive" substance ingested, within one week. Just do a search.
Thyroid supporting nutrients.
Thyroid Gland and Thyroid Enzymes: proteins and amino-acids
(taurine, leucine, arginine, OKG, L-carnitine, etc), minerals (IODINE, Mg, Zn, Se, Chromium, Bo, etc)
B-vitamins
Vitamin D3
Vitamin E complex/natural
Vitamin K1 K2
Vitamin A
Carotenoids (pastured meat, wild seafood, Krill oil/Astaxanthin)
EPA + DHA from small cold water fish, high dose if extreme inflammation is present
Antioxidants (Glutathione from undenatured whey protein powder, no heat and no blender!, Flavonoids, CoQ10, ALCAR/α-LA, Pycnogenol, etc)
Important!
No dietary and no environmental toxins (nitrite preservatives, plastic, petroleum, bisphenol, no heavy metals (Lead, Mercury), no endocrine disrupters, no pesticides,no dioxins, etc)"
A comprehensive detox protocol might be necessary also.
Jon Barron's website has a good tutorial for this,
Please take time to explore all this on your own.
Are you presently taking natural desiccated Thyroid?
If not, you may want to really research this, as it may hold some answers,
that perhaps you will not get from your doctor!
And potentially get some improvement.
There are so many better things that you can do, instead of pulling your hair. I know it gets frustrating, however, you must remember, that YOU
hold the power, not any doctor, not any drugs, not any supplements,
to make the difference. So stay strong and focused, have faith in your own inherit ability to heal, and take charge of your own health matters.
This is what helped me turn around my own situation, when I realized
that there had to be a better way.
Finally look into coconut oil (coconut research center website) for health, as it is one of the highest ranking "functional" foods. Also check Oil pulling.
A Low carb or no carb diet may benefit you greatly.
Should you do the Pulse Test, it will probably show that you are reactive to carbs .
Take care.
