Yes in Drs minds diagnosing with fibromyalgia lets them stop looking for what you have. Like it gives them the right to give up on you.
Might as well call it 'we dont know what you have disease".
OMG! I have the exact same thing. It feels like if I were a cat, I would be purring. Or ig I were a car engine, I would be idling. Then I had the most bizarre thing happen. Laying in bed one night, buzzing began from my ankles up through my back and around to my forehead; and then from my shoulders down to my wrists. This "buzzing" was so severe, that outwardly I did appear to be shaking. My neurologist called it a disorder of the central nervous system. All I can say about this is at about the same time, I began experiencing swollen joints--ankles, knees, wrists. It took approximately 15 months for it to go away. At this point, it still comes back every now and then, but its usually when I am fatigued or maybe drink a little too much alcohol. For two years, all of my blood work came back normal. Just recently, though, it came back positive for ANA. Based on the appearance of my hands--and based on how all my joints feel--I think I am on my way to rheumatoid arthritis. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, but I seriously do not believe I have that. That's a word they use when they don't have anything more definite to say. Also "undifferentiated connective tissue disease."
I have seen similar comments before (on the thyroid disorders forum) but quite rare - most coming from people with a combination of low thyroid AND weak adrenals.
