Brain lesions

Im 32 with no major health problems, just migraine headaches starting in childhood and doctors refusing to diagnose it. A few years ago I developed flue like symptoms no fever just body aches and malaise, after 4 days of not developing more flue like symptoms and weakness becomeing severe enough to make it difficult to walk to the bathroom. I went to the doctor which gave me tamiflue, took one dose knocked out cold for over 12 hours waking up feeling confused and disoriented I decided to not take the medication. The body aches became minor but over the next two months I continued to be weak, unable to stand for more than 10min at a time and becoming so fatigued that I would start to shake, driving more than 10min would be too fatiguing, trouble with finding word while speeking, stuttering which was never a problem, and hand tremors. I convinced myself it was MS and I was going to die. I demanded help from my doctor. All labs were normal, tests for gillianbarre, tetnus, lyme disease everthing was tested, an MRI found porital and frontal lobe leasions billaterally and fairly round in shape. MS was ruled out in stanford but found markers for sjogrens. Sought out a rheumatologist which quikly dismissed the entire thing. Stanford felt their was no further need to see me and rheumatologist no need to do anything. Im left with continued atacks that happen infrequently and much less in severity. These attacks last a day or two but do not allow me to function Im only good for walking to the bathrom and even driving to my childs school and back is difficult.

I feel hopeless and dont know where to go or what to do. The only help that has been offered is an antidepressant. I have been depressed but the symptomps do dont come with saddness. Its frustrating because the motivation to go and do is their but my body will not allow it. I feel that my symptoms are just being dismissed as its all in my head. I have found that Exercise preceeds most of my attacks which i find strange. I tend to think its more in the relm of autoimmune. I just need to know what I should and should not do to care for what ever it is that ails me. Im not looking for medication or a cure just simple what to do and not to do. i know rest, balanced diet and exercise is all on the list.

I just need some direction feeling lost and confused, with no on e wanting to help.

One last thing I left out before this started about 1.5 years after i took a medication that caused a severe reaction, my entire body was like one giant hive and spent about a month on steroids.

Gosh. Reading this, it is one sad story.

You dont need anti-depressants, as your main treatment here, you may need them as an additional treatment just to lift your spirit, as to deal with this illness, because that is what it is an illness.

Let me start, because i get so mad when i read stories like this. People end up suffering endlessly.

Right first of all you say you got headaches when you was young.
Then they found lesions on a MRI of the brain.
Then you say they found markers for Sjorgens.
The rheumy blew you off saying it wasnt.

Right firstly have you had a lumbar puncture to rule out MS?
Have you seen a neurologist?

Secondly have you been tested for Sjorgens, in blood , and a lip biopsy?

I feel you need to find a good rheumatologist. If you have any bloodwork done post them so the forum can have a look whats going on and we maybe able to help more.

It is hard for me to say because i havent seen any bloodwork, but i definately know , that there is something not right ,
If you havent had a lumbar puncture, then i would say you need a good neurologist.
Also Sjorgens is treated usually of rheumatologists, so dont be put off by the rude, rheumatologist who blew you off.
You need to find another one, and keep finding one till you find one which listens and takes you seriously.

I would also say get tested for Antiphospolipid syndrome, this can cause headaches, and also put lesions on MRI scans also,
This is two simple bloodtests done at your doctors.
I have lesions on my MRI, was mis-diagnosed, with MS for 12 years, and then later found out it was the Antiphospolipid Syndrome.

The two bloodtests are called ... LA=Lupus Anticoagulant.... and ACL= anticardiolipin antibodies.

If you can get any bloodwork that would be an help, If you need anymore help just give me a shout. This is a very sad story, and i will help you as much as i can,  Thats if i know...
I am not a doctor... lets just say i am a patient who has suffered many years untold,
I had to fight , and do all my own homework,,,lol. which i have done for many years.

Like they say though knowledge is power.
Good luck
Nicola.

My last trip to the emergency room I was told I showed signs of MS in my lower body.  This was determined by a reflex test they did on my foot.  They ran CAT scans and MRI's and could find nothing.  You need the genetics to get a disease like MS, ALS, Parkinston.............etc.  Wheither you have the genetics for a certain disease is not important.  The same neurotoxins that give you a specific disease can make you just as sick even thought they do not have a name for it.  The key to getting your health back is to identify the toxins in your enviroment and eliminating them.

My problem was my teeth.  I had accumulated to many amalgam(mercury) fillings and root canals in my mouth.  It had become too much for my body to handle and I got sicker than I had ever been.  These toxins are all around us and when we get more in our body than it can handle we get sick.

They have detoxification programs which will give your body what it needs to remove these toxins.  I followed one by Tom McGuire DDS which I found on line.  It gave me my health back.   It is a program of vitamins, minerals and natural supplements which allow your body to heal itself.  There are others if you google detoxification you may be able to find something to help you.  If you get the book "Prescription fo Nutritional Healing by Phyllis A. Balch, CNC" it will explain the supplements you can take for specific illness.  Match up your symptoms to the illness and give it a try.

If you google Dr. Fuhrman he has a video on line which explains the importance of diet as related to disease.  Fact is eating the raw fruits and vegetables give your body the vitamins and minerals it needs to heal itself.  When we put things like artifical sweetners, hydrogenated oils, arsenic, pesticides, .....etc in our body the body must get rid of these things.  It does so with the various vitamins and minerals which are found in real food.  That is not the process foods that most people eat today.  If you read the backs of these containers you can find out what you are eating.  I am a chemist and I can't undertstand what many of the chemicals are.  They call these things preservatives.  This keeps the food from spoiling because the bacteria will not eat it.  If the bacteria won't eat we shouldn't be eating it.  When we get too much of this stuff in our bodies it will make us sick.  It is the raw fruits and vegetables which gives our bodies what we needed to repair ourselves.
