Guillain Barre Syndrome?

8 weeks ago I engaged in protected vaginal sexual activity and unprotected oral sexual activity.

Last Saturday I started to feel a tingling in my arms along with a headache and a fever. I also have neck pain, and lower back pain. I am extremely worried as the pain has got progressively worse over the last week.

Last Friday I had a blood test where a needle was stuck in to my vein, the following day it was bruised and rather yellow. The yellowness has only just gone today.  Could it be Guillain Barre Sydrome? I have tested negative for every STD excluding Herpes. However I did have a cold around 3 weeks ago.

If any of you have any idea whats wrong with me please let me know! I am a 20 year old male if that's any help.

Many Thanks, Dean

Also, I have had these pains 9 days now, I can still walk fine, however I get pains in my fingers and feet as well as my kneecap. I occasionally have chest pain too. Do all my symptoms point to Guillain Barre Syndrome?

Please help Doc!

I haven't tested for it as I have no lesions.

Is your knowledge quite good on Guillain Barre Syndrome?

If so would I still be able to run after 1 week of the syndrome starting? The tingling pain is very intermittent! and I have read that usually a fever is not a symptom of GBS? Also can someone recover from GBS without treatment?

I have been extremely stressed in the last couple of months and I am moving abroad in January so I have had a lot on my mind, I will take your advice and try and eat a healthy diet as well as well as taking vitamin pills - any brand you recommend?

I would like to thanks you for your response and I will see a Doctor this week.

Many Thanks

Dean

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi Dean!
I am not sure what you mean by excluding herpes. Were you not tested for it or tested positive for it?  The symptoms are in all probability due to viral fever, anxiety and stress. Eat healthy, take a multi-vitamin pill for a week, drink water and walk or exercise. If you do not feel well then consult your doctor. Also take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory such as Tylenol, Aleve or Mobic to relive the symptoms of thrombophlebitis you got due to blood test. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.

Also I cant still take part in physical activity, e.g. football, running - I have no problems from that.
