If the vaccine is not a live vaccine you should not, theoretically, have any trouble. Some people, however who are immune-supressed may not respond to the vaccine as well. By that I mean you may not make antibodies to the flu as well as other people after a flu vaccination.
Thank you Niko I appreciate your input.
Hey RAchick311.
The "medical" jury is out on this matter, as you mentioned.
If you decide to go for the flu vaccine, make sure it is NOT the one with the live virus.
If I were you-I'm not in any way suggesting you do this yourself-I would
look at a comprehensive Naturopathic/Holistic plan to eradicate the effects of RA, or at least minimize the symptoms substantially.
Despite the lack of a conventional medical cure for RA, I know that by going outside the '"established" medical box, there's the opportunity to eliminate arthritis pain and symptoms for good.
Message me for details , if interested.
I hope this helps, however, it is not intended to replace medical advice.
Wishing you well.
Niko
Hi I am also on Humira. What would you sugjest for the flu vaccine? Some say its ok to get it. Some say no.
Thank you
due to reduced immunologic response to either inactivated or live YF & Typhoid vaccinations, once Humira treatment is resumed, it would be advisable to stay off it until your return from the destination for which these vaccinations are required before travelling there.
This is just my opinion, but discuss it also with your prescribing doctor
and have him/her check it out for you.
Hope this helps,
Niko
