TSH Question

Can some one please tell me if I need to start back on a low dose of (2.5) Tapozole my test as of July/14/09 is as following:

                                                RANGE REFERENCE INTERVAL
TSH - 0.100                               0.450-4.500
THYROXINE(T4)   9.0                 4.5-12.0
T3 UPTAKE  35                          24-39
FREE THYROXINE INDEX  3.2     1.2-4.9
T4 FREE(DIRECT) 1.28                0.61-1.76

THYRO RECEPTOR AB,SERUM 4.79   (RANGE 0.00-1.75) "-Graves results used to be in the 80's"

I stated taking 2.5 (for 1 week) agaisnt my doc's wishes because i was feeling hyper. After one week I started to feel better. I am not taking any at the current time. My Endo thinks that it is my anxiety but I tell him that i know my body...my other question is: would a person feel hyper symtoms with a low TSH and isn't my test results on the high end (which will aslo cause hyper symptoms).   Please Help

Yes a person can feel hyper symptoms even though they are hypo..it's called "swinging" where you swing from one to the other ( back and forth between hypo and hyper).

Can you find a doctor that treats with blood tests AND how you're feeling?

ALSO...many other issues may be going on here.
Celiacs
Low Iron
Low Iodine
Adrenal Fatigue
and more...

I would definitely get the autoimmune antibody tests run for the Hashimoto's BUT in the end it's just a test and you still will have to make changes in your lifestyle to feel better.

I recommend several things...
a site called WomentoWomen.com this is a site run by female doctors.
also to help you sort out blood work any of the thyroid boards in yahoo ( these people are people just like you, no doctors.)

Keep us posted.

I give up.   Would indicate med's to combat hyper symptoms.  But if your Dr. is against it I would ask him why.  Anxiety may contribute to symptomolgy but I would question why he doesn't think the thyroid is involved with a suppressed TSH.  Again I apologize for the mis-information in the first two responses.

I am sorry LUKY I must have been having brain fog.  Your TSH is suppressed and is hyper not hypo which would not indicate meds.  Would still check out antibodies.

I am not an Endo but it appears that your TSH indicates that you are hypothyroid and would not indicate meds. as they would further supress your TSH.  I would check out your thyroid antibodies.  If they are increased it may explain hyper symptoms.
