hot flashes massive sweats

I have been diagnosed with an autoimmune problem due in part to a positive ANA blood test. I have also gone through the throws of menopause and had an FSH test which has confirmed. Neither time nor medication have resolved these issues which have been exhausting and most debilitating. I feel as though I am literally boiling inside of my own body and the pain, frequency and sensations added to the obvious sweat which profuse through my pores. Seemingly they are getting worse and occur at least 30-50 times a day and through the night. I feel like I am losing my mind and don't know where to turn to for help. I do not know or understand what is happening to me and this is not any normal hormonal menopausal transition. Can any one help?

Any other syamptoms that seem totally unrelated?  Chronic headaches?  Eye pain?  Feeling like retching (throwing up)? struggling for air or "air hunger"  sleeplessness, muscle and joint pain? Brain fog?

The list of medications tried is endless- example methotexate, plaquinol, Cymbalta, Lyrica, Prednisone, Folic acid, Endocet, The autoimmune diagnoses is fibromyalgia and am currently having monthly blood draws for the Rheumatologist to monitor levels which may/or not be affecting organ involvement. Thus far only high DNA (ds) antibody is abnormal. I have had spinal surgery x 2 in 2000 &2001. lumbar fusion l4-5. I have migraine headaches since an epidural spinal in 1995 for back injury in 1993. My health has just deteriorated down hill ever since.

When I go to the Rheumatologist tomorrow I will be asking about the hot flashes and the sweats.  I will let you know what she says.

I am going a Rheumatologist Thursday for evaluation and further testing.  I was diagnosed ten years ago with Fibromyalgia.  Three weeks ago I had strepped throat, next week fever and fatigue.  By week three I had joint and muscle pain so bad I could not open a door and it hurt to walk.  Tests from regular doctor showed Anemia and RA & ANA both off.  I am experiencing hot flashes, joint pain, fatigue, brain fog and the feeling of sometimes not having enought air.  I feel like I am falling apart.  I can't believe how many of the symptoms you listed I have!

So by autoimmune disease, do you mean autoimmune thyroid disease?  That would seem to explain your temperature regulation problems that may be greater than typical menopause.  You vaguely alluded to medications, but did not specify what has been tried.
