withdrawing from long-term methadone use--weird allergic reaction?

I have been off methadone, now, for almost 4 weeks (very gradual withdrawal).  For 17 years, I took 65 mg./day.  In addition, I've worn a pacemaker for the past 2 years.  Since coming off, I've developed a VERY strange problem.  It seems my eyes when exposed to certain substances, INCLUDING MY OWN SWEAT, will burn, begin itching violently and, then, minutes later a horrible headache sets in which can last for hours.  Could it be that my body (though not my tears) is shedding stored methadone-related substances to which I'm, apparently, allergic?  If so, how long will this last?  Also, could it be that the eye muscles, because of years of "pinned" pupils, are just now "reawakening" and trying to dilate normally?

Thanks.

You know, I considered posting elsewhere, too, i.e., in "Addiction".

I think you would get a better response in a different forum  .
