Back Problems

I am thirteen and i have had terrible back pain. I have been to a chiropractor, physical therapy, and orthepedic doctors. I have had an mri and x-rays come back normal. I can crack my entire spine all the time. I get knots covering my back and neck. I have also dislocated both of my shoulders different times in the past three months. I know there is something wrong and i get bad headaches. It started 2 years ago and its gotten worse. I have injured my tailbone and it seems like each day i am getting worse. My bones seem to be fine but there has to be something wrong.

I had a MRI of my back when i hurt my tailbone. I just asked for an MRI of my neck but my docter wants me to wait until i see the back specialist. But thats not until March. All my doctor has told me to do is Advil and heat, which doesn't help much. I need something to stop the knots. I have them spreading from my neck and back to down my shoulders and arms and now down my leg. I stretch and use a heating pad but there are too many and its not stong enough.

I'm not double jointed but it all started when i fell from the top of a chreeleading stunt 2 years ago and landed on tile floor. My back was fine but later on in May i injured my tailbone in soccer. I was hospitalized and it healed itself. Then in November that year a gym mat fell on my back and i started cracking my back. I went to a chiropractor from april of 2008 to july. and from july to October. I am going to see a back specialist in March. But it seems that i can't wait.

Selma has the same question I have, if you have hyperactive joints that can be the problem. Ask about spinal decompression at the PT office or chiro office, it may help. Also ask about cold laser treatment at the PT office and if they don't have the things suggested find another one that does. Keep us posted!

Hope I Help
