Children Cutting up Clothes.

My older brother came to me today to ask me for advice, as to how he should handle his current situation. He took his 7year old daughter shopping for some new clothes for school. shirts, skirts, pants, shoes ect. Well they came home and he hung them all up for her in her closet, and left her in her room to play. When he went back to her room with his wife to go pick out her outfit for school the next day.....They found nothing but shreds of what was her new things, shoes and all she had cut. Shocked he asked her what happen, and what she had done! And to his surprise she with a straight face said she hadn't done anything. And then they continued to ask her for the scissors the used to do all this with and where she found it? And she continued to lie and said "What scissors? I don't have anything, I didn't do anything"? Am sooo confused at this type of behavior. Shes a bright little girl and has never done anything like this. I didn't know  what to say to him, so here i am. PLEASE HELP!

Yes, this is odd. Either she is lying because she is afraid of being in trouble, so there is something else going on. There is no way for us to know what it is. If they seriously believe she is not lying, then the next step is to see a psychologist.

That would have to be understood further depending if other behavior occured and what might have caused this. The best person to speak to would be a child psychologist.
