I don't think pacing is a symptom, but ask your doctor for sure. The reason I don't think pacing is a symptom because I am also a pacer. I'm not on an anti-psychotic at all. I've been a pacer for as long as I can remember.
But, if you have any concerns you should ask your doctor. But from what I understand symptoms are involuntary movements, like your body twitches sort of like having a mind of its own.
I've had bipolar for 15 years. I've never heard of TD before this site(I'm new here). Wow. That's scary. Do you think pacing could be a symptom of that? I do all the time.
I do take seroquel on an as needed basis. If I have(or am having) a manic episode, I take 200-300mg and when I wake up, because it usually knocks me out, I am more under conrol. I might have to take it for a day or two, but that way works for me. Also, my doctor prescribes it that way.
If you need an antipsychotic and you have tardive dyskinesia the only antipsychotic that you can take safely that won't worsen it is Clozaril. Speak to a psychiatrist about this and also see a neurologist who is a movement disorders specialist to have it treated.
I have tardive dyskinesthia...so it definately is broke! I already take quetiapine. I am not sure if it works on a prn basis.
Unless you want something like seroquel for an 'as needed' drug.
Why do you want to get off of your antipsychotic? My doctor told me to try cutting down on my risperdal and I tried. I had the beginnings of symptoms, so I went back up with my dosage and stayed there. I figure, if it ain't broke...
