How useful are Diane 35 pills at preventing pregnancy?

A girl i'm seeing has been taking Diane 35 pills for a month now that is supposedly used to control her acne due to her Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). She was absolutely fine with having me ejaculate inside her and right now when I think about it in retrospect, I am curious on how effective the pills are and what precautions I need to take to avoid unwanted pregnancy. Can anyone describe how the pills work and how likely she will get pregnant everytime a full unprotected ejaculation occurs?
