Are my blood clots normal?

I received my first Depo Provera shot in November 30th prior to this date I had already gotten my period. It’s now January 18th and I started my “period” (if you can even call it that) a couple of days ago. I have little to no active bleeding, I’m soooo bloated, it started with brown discharge, I can hardly eat which means I’m not pooping, etc... this morning though, I passed a blood clot in my urine and nearly immediately I was in instant pain. Is this normal? Should I be worried?

Argh. Being a woman is such a joy, right?  So, the blood clot probably came out of your vagina when you were urinating rather than in your urine, right?  (blood in urine is a whole different issue such as kidney infection and I don't think that's what you are talking about).  Your body is getting used to this new hormonal manipulation you are on so weird bleeding/spotting is pretty normal.  The rule of thumb on blood clots is that they should not be the size of a quarter or larger.  If they are, let your doctor know.  but otherwise, clots are not abnormal.  good luck
