I have mirena as well.Im switching for something else for a different reason than u but this is the second time ur dealing w/this I would say get on a different form of birth control all together(The best thing2me is NO period so a constant bleeding is not common w/mirena its the opposite).I dont know why u had2wait SO long2get the1st1out.thats not normal.I'd call around.I say that because I was calling so I can get mine removed&Im waiting til July11th&was apologized2for how long from now that is.I found MANY places who could get me n w/n the next1-2wks but Im going w/the place that has no copay(with my insurance)so I dnt mind the extra couple weeks. Also if u r really sick of it you can easily go2the e.r. and they will remove it for u(a friend of mine did that&got a script4the pill2take until she could c her regular ob).The health department can get u n w/n a couple weeks. No need2wait so long.

Hi there,
Merina is a hormonal IUD .It causes the uterine lining to become very thin, sometimes this can act like an open sore, and cause daily spotting or bleeding. In your case you have been bleeding a lot so it is best to consult a gynecologist and get it removed if possible. Severe blood loss can lead to anemia, weakness and hypotension. You may be advised an alternative birth control method. I sincerely hope it helps.
Best luck and regards!
