Stopped taking the pill - is this normal?

Hi,

For a bit of background I had a miscarriage 3 months ago and was affected emotionally quite badly. I initially decided to take the pill to prevent pregnancy again to allow myself some time to grieve and get my head back however, this had completely the opposite effect and made me feel 10x worse emotionally. I also resented the fact I had next to no periods as I really needed the reassurance of seeing my body working through it's natural cycle to know that 'I still work'

Anyway after discussing with my partner I've now decided to stop taking the pill. I was taking Cerazette and I stopped taking it on day 3 of my last period (which due to the pill was actually just mild spotting). Since stopping the pill my bleeding has got heavier and I'm now on day 10 of full period like bleeding with no signs of stopping. My question is, is this normal? I assume it's my body simply trying to get it's own hormone balance back but with everything that happened with the miscarriage I am so concerned about everything period/fertility related. I just want my normal cycle back.

Thanks
