nuvaring

I'm new to starting the nuvaring.. my doctor told me I was suppose to wait 7 days before the nuvaring can take effect after I inserted the nuvaring on the 4th day of my period.. I had sex with my boyfriend on two of the days before the 7 days were up..  but we did the pull out method. I have an ovulation calender on my phone and it said that I would ovulate a couple days after the 7th day was up.. do I have anything to worry about still if I didnt ovulate during the time I had sex?

Hi there!
When did you insert the nuvaring? If you inserted the Nuva Ring on the first day of your menses, it will be immediately effective against birth control. If it is inserted during days 2-5, you should use another form of birth control (like a male condom or spermicide) for the first 7 days. Ideally one doesn’t ovulate until 7-12 days after periods are over. That is assuming you have a normal 28 days cycle with you period lasting anywhere from 2-6 days. If it has been confirmed that you are not ovulating then there are no chances of pregnancy. I sincerely hope it helps. Do keep us posted.
Take care and regards!
