Hole of 3mm diameter in the heart, woman , age 41

what are cures available, does it increase with age, what precautions to be taken and till date there was no problem in performing daily routines.

Hi!

It all depends on where the hole is. If the hole is between the two ventricles and in the muscular portion, and there is a very mild left to right shunt, then probably there is nothing to worry. In such cases where there are no symptoms, only a wait and watch policy is adopted. Otherwise the only treatment is a heart surgery and closure of the hole. Please discuss with a cardiologist.
