Horomone roller coaster...so over this ride!

*Pitty Party Alert* I could really use some feedback for anyone who has any advice :) Thanks in advance. The latest and greatest is endo took me off birth control pills because of side effects. Which makes me very happy. He added Vivelle patch 0.1 and Prometrium 200 mg for ten days out of the month. Also upping my Humatrope. And taking another look at my thyroid.
Anyone have experience with the Vivelle for estrogen replacement?

The thing that has me super discouraged is my weight and my dr recommendation that I consider lap band. I currently am about 90lbs overweight. I take five Spinning classes a week and eat about 1500 calories a day. You know kale and fruit in the blender for breakfast , raw veggies and hummas for lunch , chicken and brown rice for dinner.... As of today's appointment I have only lost eight lbs since March. 8! So he seems to think surgery is the only option. I can't help but feel that pituitary dysfunction has something to do with this? Any thoughts?

Thanks :)

Have you had surgery?

How did they come up with the non-functioning diagnosis? They are typically fast growing and large... not tiny.

I would say your thyroid testing is... deficient! But you are too low on T4 for sure so I would not be happy at all but your doc is probably basing everything on your TSH which is decent but invalid (IMHO) as you have a pituitary issue.

Is your doc a pituitary endo?

So I had a 2mm non functioning tumor on my stalk.

the only tests I know are as follows

T4 Free  0.9 ( range is 0.8 - 1.7 nd/dl)
TSH Ultrasensitive 1.430 (range 0.35- 5.50)
HGH .2 ( range <8.0)

Currently taking .2 Humatrope daily
Vivelle dot .1 patch
Progesterone 200mg ten days per month

I know my thyroid looks normal but I am wondering if I need a small dose to feel better?

Your thoughts Rumpled?

I am on vivelle. Not sure why they call it a dot when it is not round!

Pituitary disfunction can certainly cause weight issues.

But what type of pit tumor? What are your tests?
