Is it wrapped around a carotid or the optic nerve? Why was it deemed inoperable? Usually a cyst is not something that "wraps" like a tumor and is not an issue to remove like a tumor.
It is possible to take her films and reports and send them around to other endoscopic surgeons (try skull base, pituitary) and get another opinion.
one of the top neorologists in wisconsin said it is inoperable. which is why i asked about long term affects. i know she periodicly has a spinal done to relieve pressure. this cant go on for ever though.
Who said it was inoperable? What it usual is that if there are *no* symptoms, they leave it alone. But it can be removed via endoscopic surgery.
The symptoms can be hormonal - usually effecting sleep - and effecting the eyes (it is near the optic nerve), as well as headaches and more if it becomes symptomatic. If she is having symptoms, then she should pursue a doctor to have it removed.
