litttle worried

Sept 08 i noticed a had two lumps in my right arm pit, one was slightly bigger. I went to a local health dept. The Dr notices in my right breast  I had a lump a 5cm. She sent me to get a mammogram done, after the tech review my mammo they decided to do a ultrasound. The girl that was doing the ultrasound was rude and kept on saying she can't see what i'm talking about. I went home more confused, then i received a letter saying it was benign and get tested in a year... well for the past  month I have noticed that my right breast is tender and my lumps (arm pit) are still there and i have one in my left arm pit. I feel drained, I have a achy feeling in my back around my shoulder blade.  the lump seems bigger. should i be worried or wait until Sept for another test??? Breast cancer runs in my family, Mother, aunt. had a hysterectomy and was on HRT, stop taking these about 3 yrs ago.  People say your breast shouldn't ache if there is cancer present is that true???

It is true that breast cancer is not often associated with actual breast pain. 'Since the lump was determined to be benign it must have been either a cyst or a Fibroadenoma. Both of these are benign findings and do cause pain. Lymph nodes become enlarged for several reasons ... one is because of an infection somewhere in the body. If you are experiencing pain at other locations in your body I would suggest that you see your Dr. for an evaluation of this problem. You might request a copy of the reports from your Mammogram and Ultrasound .... you could have them explained in detail by your Physician which might help with your confusion regarding this problem.  Demand an explanation if you must so that you understand completely what is going on.    Regards .....

I am not sure how they can be sure all is benign with no biopsies. Please go back. I found lumps in my armpits, nothing has turned up in my breast but the lumps are cancer...Ask for further investigation. If the lumps were due to an infection i would have expected them to have gone down by now. Am not a medic but PLEASE do not ignore this. Good luck. Let me know how you get on
