Any pain in your breast

Hi, I am going for a stereo biopsy and reading all the stories of bening vs. not I have a question "do any of you had a pain in the area a microcalcification cluster was found?" because I do and I wonder if it increases my chances of it being cancerous. Thanks to all.

Thanks everybody for responding to me. This site really helped with first frustrations after the mammogram. My results were fibrocycstic changes due to aging, nothing bad. I am glad. Thanks again for your feedbacks and all the best to all of you.

I had pain in a lump under my areola and was told that it was probably benign, and to come back for another mammogram in six months.  You are lucky that they are doing a biopsy.  After six months they did a biopsy, and it was cancer.  If they had done the biopsy the first time I went, I would have been stage 0.  Now I was stage 2, and just had a bilateral mastectomy.  Good luck!

The first time I had a sterotactic biopsy, I had no pain in the area of the microcalcifications, and a benign result. The second time I had a stereotactic biopsy (2 years later) I did have pain in the area but still had a benign result! I don't think there is any correlation between breast pain and the presence of microcalcifications. I have had breast pain from underlying fibrocystic changes, hormonal changes, and scar tissue from other biopsy sites, but so far am very fortunate to not have received a diagnosis of cancer

Keep us posted -- we wish only benign results for you too!

Pain is not usually associated with breast cancer .... breast pain however is quite common and occurs due to various causes. If your biopsy is on an area of calcification then it seems the odds are in your favor for a benign result. Even if this were found to be something other than benign it would be a very early discovery; you mention no lump either by palpation or on film.  Regards ....
