They appear as tiny dots on the film .... fewer than 5 in a cluster probably calls for a follow-up in 3 to 6 months to track their formation. They are of no particular concern when they are scattered about within the breast tissue. When they appear in clusters or grouped in certain patterns then they are cause for concern and require more investigation. I would advise you to abide by whatever follow-up was recommended.
