Biopsy

After multiple aspirations for breast cysts, I went in to have another doctor look at my latest round of cysts. She is wanting to do an excision of one of the lumps and send it in for analysis. That's a week away right now.

She said that that cyst is not fluid filled, but that it is more "gelatinous" in nature. Can anyone provide insight about this? Thanks so much.

Cysts can contain either liquid or solid or a combination of both. With a cyst containing solid material it can't really be biopsied by needle as often not enough material can be aspirated. It is safest to have some investigation into the nature of this "different" cyst. Regards ...
