Can you help me under stand.  Doctor stated that there is a 50/50 chance that their is cancer in the lymph nodes because of the dimple on the inside of breast and the soreness and hurt to touch under arm.

Hi Vick,

I'm so glad you came here.  There are so many people here that have been where you are and can offer you support, myself included.  It's great that you've seen your dr and are being proactive about taking care of your health.  While it is so hard to take each step to get to the bottom of your breast issues, you are doing the right thing.  The good news is you are being cared for.  My advice?  Take it one day at a time and if that's too much, one hour at a time.  Rest when you need to rest.  Just dealing with this quest is emotionally exhausting and you deserve rest when you need it.  Seek support from friends and family and surround yourself with only positive people!

Feel free to stop by my profile and read my story.  I've dealt with some of the same concerns you are.  I will be having my second mastectomy on October 5th, a prophylactic mastectomy because I'm BRAC2.  I'm doing this because I want to live long enough to terrorize my great-grandchildren!

Hang in there!

Hi.
Do you have the exact result of your biopsy?  I got confused by the result of “benign cancer”.  The word cancer denotes a malignancy.
You have a strong family history of breast cancer.  Both your mother and your grandmother had the diagnosis of breast cancer.  Perhaps you may want to consult a geneticist to have your genes examined, specifically look for BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene mutations.  Mutations in both genes confer a risk to develop breast cancer.  Prophylactic mastectomy may be done in patients at high risk.
Good luck.
