Jeep65 How are you?

Since your TNBC was dx'd and rx'd in 2007, I'm wondering how you are now?    Triple-negative b c is an aggressive form and at this time 2010, the best adjuvent rx is chemo, even for Stage 1 tumors, or so I've read.    It frequently recurrs within three years, so I hope your status is better.    Good review article in Annals of Oncology, Dec. 2009.

OK!  Mice...rats... etc.  I'm most interested in people...women!   Thanks for the correction.   I'll try the two new links you sent tomorrow morning.   I want to be as informed as I can be when I go to my second opinion apptmt in 11 days.

Correction: the subjects were mice, not rats. :-)

Sorry! Too much in a hurry again.

Here's the article about the study just presented at the April, 2010 American Assoc. for Cancer Research annual meeting.

Sorry! I should have checked them out before giving them to you, but I was in a hurry.

Okay, here's the link to the online TNBC chat with two experts. It's 2 years old, but still might be of interest.

And here is the link to a new TNBC reseach study with excellent results--except that it's still in the rat phase :-(  (But maybe some promise for the future?)

Thanks for alerting me to the reference you found! Please send me a link if you have one.

Regards,
bb

Thanks for your encouragement.   I was not able to connect with either of the links you sent...bummer.   Thanks for trying.   The best article I've found thus far on triple negative is a review article published Dec. 2009 in the Annals of Oncology.   I want you to know about it since you are very active and helpful to so many on this forum.

Hi Doris,

I am glad you are getting a second opinion and putting a lot of thought into the decision regarding chemo.  TNBC is generally aggressive, but although it has no targeted tx (such as tamoxifen for ER+ or Herceptin for HER2+), it often responds well to chemo.

I am sending you a PM  regarding some sites with TNBC info that you may or may not have discovered.

Best wishes...

Many thanks for the link.   I was very interested in Jeep65's status in 2009.

I'm going for a second opinion at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in a couple of weeks, but am leaning toward accepting chemo, inspite of have Stage 1 and my renal problems.   Triple negative seems to need it.
