Lump under my Armpit, 15 years old.

I'm 15 years old and have had this problem 3 times now. I have a small lump under my armpit that itches. It is not a visible lump, but I can feel it when touching my armpit. It comes and goes, well I am sure it does. The itching goes after around 2-3 days and it takes a few months for it to come back, but I never check if the lump goes, which I am now aware that I should. My mum says it is a swollen lymph gland or something along the lines of that, but I'm not completely convinced. I'm only 15 and I hope breast cancer is out of the question, but I'm really worried if it is, so do you have an answer to what this may be? Thank you.

You're more than welcome ... now even if it isn't an issue at the time, mention it to the Dr. anyway. Take care ... enjoy your summer !!

Thank you for your comment. It's taken a lot of stress off my shoulders. I'm so relieved that it's nothing really serious, and I will definitely mention it to my doctor next time I have an appointment for anything. Thanks again. x

I tend to agree with your Mother ... lymph nodes will enlarge if there is any type of infection in any part of the body. This could also be an infected hair follicle or might even be an irritation caused by the deodorant you are using. Breast Cancer would almost certainly be out of the question since you are only 15 and you have NO symptoms involving your breasts. The next time you see your Family Doctor you might mention this and get his/her opinion. In the meantime I don't think I'd worry too much about it though. Take care .
