dear doctor

thank you for your reply - another question - my dr. has recommended radiation therapy but hasn't said anything about Herceptin.  would he want to know if any nodes are involved before suggesting it?  is Herceptin a form of chemo?  one last question, my report read 4.0 overexpression for her2/neu, is this high?  Thanks for your help...

hi.
Herceptin is a form of "targeted" therapy for breast cancer. it is basically an antibody against breast cancer with an over expression of the her2/neu gene, and not all breast cancers will be her2 positive. it is a different form of treatment which is usually combined with chemotherapy. and no, i dont think the doctor will look at your nodal status, only the her2/neu.
