Mammogram and ultrasound

In November I had my first mammogram. I'm 41 years old, had a baby girl in March and was breatfeeding her until mid June. Anyways, after the mammogram, they recommended I had an ultrasound on my right breast. The ultrasound didn't show a thing! Yet, they want to do another mammogram in February. Why? What does that mean? Thank you for your help.

This is also a question that is best directed to your doctor, Cal2604. Just call the office as soon as tomorrow, say you want to speak to the doctor's nurse and then ask her your question. She will most likely tell you she will ask the doctor and get back to you?

I would go that route because the answer will be geared towards you and your situation specifically and  you should know?

I wouldn't be alarmed since the recent birth and breast feeding can certainly have some effect on the breast tissue. This is just "Good Medicine" and you should be grateful that you are being monitored this well. Often the density of the breast tissue makes it more difficult to "see" things on film and this may change with time. As long as you are receiving negative results this is a GOOD THING. It's very common to follow a Mammogram with an Ultrasound as each test "sees" different things so don't let that alarm you.   Regards ....
