Microcalcifications

I am in the process of getting a biopsy because of eight loosely grouped microcalcifications with subtle increased surrounding soft tissue. the spot magification was indeterminate etiology so biopsy is recommended.  Also, an axillary lymph node is present in mammogram with no evidence for dominant mass or skin thickening.  My question is ... is it normal to have a axillary lymph node present in mammogram??? and What does it mean "subtle increased surrounding soft tissue"??? This has been a nerve wrecking 2 weeks.  Thank you for your response

Hi,

Has the biopsy been done? When do the reports come in?

How are you doing now? What has your specialist advised?

Keep us posted.

Regards.

Hi,

How old are you? Since how long have you noticed the lumps?

Underarm lumps are axillary lymph nodes which could be enlarged secondary to infection or even trauma. They are usually enlarged when a new deodorant is used, after shaving or waxing the underarm area. they could also be a sign of infection and in rare cases are seen in malignancy.

For when is the biopsy procedure scheduled? Let us know how it goes and also ask for a copy of the report.

Let us know if you have any more doubts and keep us posted on how you are doing.

Hope this helps.

Regards.

How long before your biopsy? Am a newbie  to the community and a breast cancer survivor.  Not sure when Dr. will post, but it seems like usually within 12 hours at most. I'm now 47 yrs old.
