Hi there...
First of all,the majority of breast lumps found during pregnancy are benign in nature.
From what you describe, this soft movable lump, sound like a cyst, which may occur normally during pregnancy when the breasts are getting ready for lactation. It's really a good thing that your care provider referred you to a breast clinic for evaluation, despite the fact that it may be a perfectly normal finding. An ultrasound could be performed to distinguish between cysts and a fibroadenoma (also a benign lump) that could have been there, but has enlarged during pregnancy.
Please, let us know how you are doing and congratulations on your pregnancy :)
Sending you my best wishes....
Thank you I know the odds are on my side. My appt is a week thursday seems like forever away. I will update. I think I'm more stressed because the lump occured prior to conception
Keep in mind that the lump it's soft and movable and that's a good sign! So try not to stress too much about it okay?
Thank you for your support and reassurance. I had an examination and ultrasound today. The consultant spent a long time on the scan and said he couldnt see any descernable lump from the scan just general lumpy tissue consistant with pregnancy changes. When I went to my GP there WAS a small descernable lump (which I thought had got bigger) but perhaps it is a cyst that has gone away and the lumpy tissue I'm left with is tender due to my constant prodding? I have small breasts so a lump would not be difficult to find.
Feeling very relieved - the consultant has said he'll get me back in 3 months just for reassurance and to see if anything has changed (he also said I can come in earlier if I'm worried about anything) He was really nice and the nurse was wonderful (I was sat in floods of tears).
Hi again,
Congratulations! I am so glad you had the Ultrasound and that everything is consistent with pregnancy changes.
A follow-up in 3 months for a check up, is a very wise recommendation.
Having a caring doctor and nurse is a wonderful thing indeed!
I hope you have an easy labor, quick delivery and may your "Tears" be always tears of JOY !!
God Bless you and your little ones :)
