Hi,
Glad that the post was of some help to you. If that is what the report says you should talk to your doctor about getting a biopsy done.
What does the rest of the report say?
Let us know about how you are doing and do keep us posted.
Regards.
Thank you for your response. I am reading about all these tremendous and brave women with such optimism and spirit----and I know that whatever the result is of the biopsy----I will be able to deal with it. Its the wait that is tough.
My report says "malignancy cannot be ruled out". I know that can go either way. I will keep you posted and again, thank you for your support.
Hi,
Pleomorphic calcifications are small deposits of calcium in the breast tissue usually picked up on a mamogram even with no positive findings on breast self examination or clinical examination by a physician.
The radiologist generally categorises these calcifications and other lesions on the basis of their charecteristics as being benign, probably malignant or malignant.
The majority of calcifications are benign, only a few of them turning out to be malignant actually. In most cases, a biopsy is still done for a confirmed diagnosis to rule ot malignancy.
You should keep up your spirits and try to be emotionally strong. It will not help to panic without even a confirmed diagnosis at hand.
Let us know how you are doing and also about how the biopsy procedure goes.
Keep us posted if you have any doubts.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
