breast cancer

my mom had breast cancer and underwent radiation over 2 years ago. All was fine until about a week ago when she noticed a mass where the radiation was done. She went to the specialist who said it was not cancer but that it was a side effect of the radiation. Was wondering if anyone else is having or has had this same problem?

I haven't had this same problem but I would imagine that they mean this may be scar tissue. Although you don't mention it I presume that she also had some type of surgery before the Radiation treatments. I'm sure she was followed by an Oncologist after her treatment and I would suggest that she ck. with him/her regarding the mass that you describe at this time. I'm not sure why this would present itself so long after the Radiation was completed and it would be a good idea to have some type of testing done to determine the true nature of the mass.   Regards .....
