do i have breast cancer?

A while ago, I found a lump. Im not quite sure what it is. I know it is very hard, it hurts if you press hard enough, its in my breast, two lumps actually. One lump per breast. Its deep in my breast. It doesnt change size when its closer to my menstrual cycle, I see no visible signs. My breast are not oddly shapped. Im only sixteen years old. And the only family member I know who had it was my grandmother who died of it.

It is indeed very uncommon in young people, but I recently read a newspaper article about a 3-yr-old who was treated for BC, so we should always be cautious.

The fact that you feel the a lump in each breast makes it even less likey that it could be cancer. It is very rare for cancer to be bilateral (in both breasts) when detected.

But follow RTRM321's good advice, because we should always be cautious, and because it will most likely quickly give you peace of mind.

Best wishes...

Chances are slim that you have breast cancer, but you should see your doctor and show her/him the lumps you are concerned about.  A breast ultrasound may be ordered to see if you are feeling a real nodule, a cyst or breast tissue.
