Hi,
Fibroadenoma is a benign breast lesion - a mass which varies in size , pain and tenderness with hormonal fluctuations and is usually felt as a lump on breast self examination. this is usually managed non-surgically; with regular breast self examinations and regular follow up examinations by your specialist. It is surgically removed in cases where the size is very large, or the patient is symptomatic with pain and other pressure symptoms.
A cyst on the other hand is a fluid filled structure in the breast tissue ; usually non cancerous. It is managed by fluid aspiration in case it is causing pain or other symptoms.
The above two conditions are diagnosed after a mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy may be required in some cases.

Hi,
The chances that this is breast cancer are very less. From what you describe it seems to be a fibroadenoma or cystic lesion most probably. Nothing can be said with surety witout an ultrasound and maybe a mammogram or MRI.
Does the mass increase in size during your menstrual cycle? Does it pain more then?
Do not panic and wait for the tests to be done and the reports to come in. Discuss the report in detail with your radiologist and ask for a copy of it too.
Let us know what the reprts say and also what your doctor tells you.
Keep us posted on how you are doing and also if you have any doubts.
