fibronoma and Dianette

My doctor prescribe me to have Dianette tablets since I have irregular period and acne. Is it fine to take it since I have fibronoma 5 in the left breast and 3 in the right breast. Any idea? Will it get affected the fibronoma?

Hi again Fay,
No need for apologies..most of us did the same thing when we first started posting.LOL
Some women can breast feed without any problems whatsoever and some other do have problems, particularly if the lump is near the nipple. As you know, fibroadenomas tend to get larger during pregnancy, but once breast feeding is completed,it usually return to its former size.
These benign lumps should be monitored through regular physician visits,to make sure that there are not significant changes such as increase in size or change in appearance.
If your doctor recommends the removal of a fibroadenoma,it would
causes no harm to the breast and won't affect the ability to breastfeed.
Try to limit your caffeine intake,(chocolate, coffee, colas)Also including a low-fat, high-fiber, vegetarian-type diet can help fibroadenomas reduce in size.
All the best to you...

Hi,
Dianette tablets contain estrogen (female hormone – similar to contraceptive pills)
No one is certain what causes fibroadenomas. However,it is believed that estrogen sensitivity may play a role, because fibroadenomas develop during a woman's reproductive years and can increase in size during menstruation or pregnancy.
Because you have multiple fibroadenomas in your breast, you should discuss with your doctor about this matter and see what he/she advises you.
P.S I noticed that you have 3 different posts. Please, if you have any additional question.or comment, keep it on the same thread, because it makes easier to have all your information in one place concerning your case.
Thank you.
