first mamogram

Hi i'm 41 years old had my first mamogram after feeling so burning and itching and redness in left breast.Went to doctor got a exam dr found a lump and sent me for a basic screening and when i got to the imaging center the questions they asked if i had a lumped i marked yes .so they had to call doctor to get script changed to diagnostic mamogram with ultrasound. So i had one set of pictures taken then about 45 minutes later another women came and took me for more pics using smaller cup like things more concentrating on certain areas.and when she went to the right breast discovered a nother lump in right breast.then i went to ultrasound .tech unoffically to me everything looked ok .then she came out nothing to worry about but come back in 6 months to get re checked .my first thought was if everything is ok when 6 months and not a year.so i tryed not to worry then i get a letter from imaging center that .they found a area they believe is benign (not cancer)but they would like me to return for a short term follow up to make sure there are no changes.then they followed that bye saying all cancer are not found thru mammograms .what am i supposed to think because when i first started feeling pain in left breat i looked breast pain on web and found almost all my symptoms of inflammtory breast cancer and it is one of the types not easly detected thru mammograms..i am so confused and worried inflammtory breast cancer is very aggressive and if i wait 6 months to get recheck and end up having it 6 months where wasted.i don't know if i should be would or am i just being nerotic .i bye no means a hipocondreact.i am quite the opposite i never get checked please i need advise

thank you for your advice when i went for tha mamogram i was mainly concerned about the left breast because that was the one bothering me .and when the tech did the compression mamogram when she lifted my right breast she noticed and a lump she told me she believed it to be a lymph node and the ultrasound tech didn't seem to notice anything .so now i don't know if the area they are keeping an eye on for change is my left breast which is bothing me or the right that the tech noticed or something totally diffrent .the ultrasound tech did say i had some small cysts but everything elsa looked ok but when i got that letter .i got a little worried because this being my first mamogram they don't have anything to compare it to so now i have to wait and see if anything looks diffrent .i am trying to get a copy of the report from my doctor so i can read exactly what it says.maybe it will clear up all my questions.anyway thanks for the reassurance i needed it

hi there,

What other symptoms do you have that make you think you may have IBC?

I can understand that you are confused, and the combination of what you read on the internet and what the technician/doctor said changing their minds would make it worse.

but as an outsider reading what you are saying it all sounds pretty normal to me, and breast cancer doesn't usually present lumps on both breasts, and also is hardly ever painful.

I think their recommendations are right and they are just being over careful, and I am sure that if the condition of your breasts change, or one of them, they will see you earlier.
