lump under my right breast

I am 27 yrs old and i have a lump under my right breast for the past 4 weeks i subscribed an antibiotic to clear it up but it never did, its a lump the size of a small  grape, its red and right around the entire area is red, the rednes spred out a little more in 2 days and just on the outside was purple, it is still painful, i went back to my doctor yesturday and she was suprised that it didn't clear up so she e-mailed a referral to the hospital, this morning the pain was gone and the redness subsided but the lump is still there, i have cysts on both breast and this is the boil/cyst? has reocurred for the third time in the same place, the little lump never went away for those three times, i got a call from the breast care tem this morning to come into the hosptial on monday but im a little scared now!!!

My mother died of breast cancwe 3 yrs ago and my grandmother on my fathers side died from breadt cancer now i am afraid, i was told that i was too young to get breast cancer but i know this isn't true, should i be afraid or is this common amoung young women
A little reasurrance would be so great

Thank you
Lucia

I don't think that you are too young to have breast cancer but I also don't think this sounds like anything related to breast cancer. I do think it's a good idea to see someone that specializes in breast issues. I'm sure you will have some type of Imagery; possibly an Ultrasound or even a Mammogram. This really sounds more like it's something related to your cystic condition or may be a small abscess. I would certainly keep asking until you have a diagnosis and some treatment to eliminate this problem. The lump may not go away even when it has been treated but at least you will know the cause. It could even be a mammary lymph node but I'm sure the Breast Specialist will find out the exact cause and treat you accordingly.    Regards .....
