As I have stated before ..... we here have reached our limit of advice that we can possibly give you regarding your recent issues. Your Dr. is your best source of information regarding your particular situation. If a biopsy is necessary it will be advised either by the Radiologist in the report to your prescribing Physician or by your Dr. when you consult him/her at your visit next week.  I might also add that biopsies are rarely done when it is evident that the finding is a benign one. There is no reason to keep doubting all the testing that you have had done. Very often, especially with an Ultrasound, findings will differ in some respect due to the way the test is done: different institutions and/or different technicians. This is a VERY GOOD reason to stay with the same institution so that all your films are reviewed each time a new test is done. Please listen to your Dr.s and follow their recommendations.  REgards ...

hi
My doctor has yet to come and my meeting is scheduled for next week . Meanwhile can you pls tell me is possible to do biopsy for such small lumps i.e 4mm and 7mm . i cant even feel the lumps . Is biopsy necessary ? what type of biopsy will be advised and will it be painful ? Earlier i had fnac done which wasnt pain ful . And also as there is conflict between both the ultrasounds ..is it possible that both ultrasounds might be wrong and there would be nothing inside?

On second thought,I presume that you are worried that the lump is not a fibroadenoma but a Phylloides tumor recurrence, because  both can appear the same in clinical presentation and histologic appearance. If this lump is a Phyllodes recurrence, it is managed by excision with clear margins.Since the lump is actually too small to biopsy,I am afraid that you'll have to wait and see what your doctor recommends.
Please keep all your posting on the same thread as it makes it easier for us to have all your information together so we can better follow your situation.Thank you.

HI suvercha,
Well, I am glad to know that the radiologist has assured you that the little lump has all the characteristics of a  fibroadenoma.
Yes,sometimes fibroadenoma can shrink but can also grow larger and that's why your radiologist has recommended to have it monitored as scheduled.
To help shrink lumps in the breast, try eliminate soda, coffee, black tea and chocolate. Reduce your sugar and simple carbohydrates (white flour, pasta and rice). These types of carbs are pro-inflammatory, which contributes to lumps in the breasts.
Increase the fiber in your diet, especially from vegetables, as fiber helps flush estrogen from the body. The more excess estrogen you have, the more likely you are to suffer from hormonal conditions, such as fibroadenoma.
True Fibroadenomas are not cancerous and do not turn into cancer. So please don't worry so much, because you really have nothing to worry about right now okay?
Take care...

hi zouzi ,

i went to the other radiologist today and got one more ultrasound done , it shows 7*5 mm well marginated mass at 2 'o clock position . he has assured me it is a fibroadenoma and told me it need not to be operated , well a follow up is required on monthly basis . as its too small , so FNAC can not be performed now but a follow up will be done so as to keep a check on it , My doctor is out of station and would be back by 20th . But i am very apprehensive :( .  Can it disappear on it its own ?

I wouldn't think that it could be malignant because you mentioned that you feel pain and pain is rarely an indication of malignancy.
Usually cysts can cause pain and sometimes also fibroadenomas.
Sorry suvercha, I know that you must be very worried and I wish I could help you and reassure you,but I am afraid that I cannot add anything more concerning your situation....
Please,I urge you again to talk to your doctor or radiologist since he/she have access to all your test reports and certainly able to explain everything to you.
I wish you well...

Hi again suvercha,
Well, I am glad you had an ultrasound done today to know exactly what's going on.
This lump could be a cyst or a fibroadenoma ( both benign lumps) but it's really hard to say for sure unless the radiologist tells you if it's a cyst (Fluid filled sac) or a solid lump in which case a biopsy might be necessary to find out what this little lump represents.
I hope it's nothing serious at all, but you should really get more information from your doctor or radiologist, because it's impossible for us to know for sure what to tell you over the internet.
Take care and good luck!

hi zouzi .

Its in continuation to my previous post - is it possible that there can be some abnormality which may not get reflected in ultrasound ?

You welcome suvercha,
Yes,pain and heaviness after surgery, could take up to 12-24 months before it goes away.
Remember to do your SBE ( self breast examination) every month a week after the start of your menstrual cycle. If you detect any abnormality, please contact your doctor. Also,if the pain persists, don't forget to ask him/her for the medicines I mentioned before (Gabapentin or Pregabalin).
Take care....

Hi,
From what you have described,I don't think that you should worry, since your ultrasound don't show anything wrong with your breast.Your problem is obviously this pain you are experiencing that may be caused from some form of tissue or nerve damage that resulted from your surgery. These damaged nerves take quite a long time to heal.
Anti-inflammatory or analgesic drugs could help, but not always.
Please ask your doctor about drugs such as Gabapentin or Pregabalin, because I heard that some women have found relief with these type of meds which target specifically neuropathic pain.

Best wishes and I hope that you'll feel better soon...

P.S.Most women have one breast lower than the other, its very common. The breasts are rarely exactly symmetrical.
