side effects of tamoxifen

Hi

I have recently started taking tamoxifen and am finding the only troblesome symtom to be vaginal dryness and irritation  I am 53, post menopausal and had a stage 1 lobular carcinoma treated with local wide exicision and radiotherapy.

What are the thoughts about using a hormone cream locally or are therte other suggestions which could be helpful?  I don't want to compromise the tamoxifens effects but I do want to do something about these symptoms!

If lubricants such as K-Y Jelly don't work for you, there are non-hormonal vaginal moisturizers that may help with regular application, such as K-Y Liquibeads or Replens. Some people also have success from olive or coconut oil, Vitamin E, nearly pure Aloe Vera, Sylk, or Corn Huskers Lotion.

you should NEVER use anything until you clear it with your Oncologist. If these are the only side effects you are experiencing then you are VERY fortunate. Please ck. with your Oncologist before using any type of medication or treatment.    Regards ....
