ANOTHER UPDATE:) check up with Vets!

Ellop Everyone!

Splash had a check up about 10 mins ago, she is now in her crate :(.
Anyways:

She is doingg VERRY well, they are taking the Putting Her Down part of their theroy away, she wont need to be put down :).
She doesn't need to go for 5 weeks. Her lactose doseage has gone down, because she is losing weight it's only twice a day now, but I will still feed her 3 times, (Half a pouch in the morning, With her morning lactose, Chicken in the afternoon (without her lactose) and in the evening a whole pouch, (with lactose))
She is still a bit wobbly, but thats understandable, but she is healing, gettin better, and doing EXTREMELY well.

It's a good sign that shee is still trying to be playful with the cats (She play fights with them stil??) Well her paws through the bars and they do the same, She just starts it!!! Like normal! Just gotta stop Wash from stealing her food!! Haha.

I am soooo happy she is doing so well, so quickly as well, which they are suprised about! Now times to start paying the bill!

She went to the toilet literally as I clicked Post Comment!! LOL.. And she went 2 - 3 times after that as well... So yeah..

I am going to the vets later on to ask for more pain meds because well she seems really distressed and stuff.. I don't like seeing her distressed.

You might try washing Splash's nether parts with a warm, moist wash cloth...like mama cat does for her kittens with her tongue.  Might help sooth kitty and stimulate the bladder to release.

She seems really distressed?!?! I dont know if her ccry is for fusses or pain... cause its a cry not a meow, and she was crying even when she had her pain med!! Ohhh..

I was reading online thatt they consume 1 to 1.5 ounces of water in a day I think... I was just worried...cause of the nerves, I thought it all started failing again..
she has NO pain meds... they wanted us to see how she goes... she was on Loxicom and iits something they dont want to have her on long term...
and she needs to be off Lactose by Tuesday.

But is it normal for them not to go much during the day?? But as long as they go its alright?? I just dont want her going down hill...I gave her a treat today and she had these kitty dental things which she likes. But she loves me for her chicken! :)

Heya;

Well, Miss Teia sometimes doesn't pee for a day or so, I think she has a bladder the size of a human child's, so the "mudcakes" are pretty big when she does.

A point to keep in mind, kitties are the descendants of desert creatures and it is still in their genes to conserve body water.

Hope the vet has continuing good news for you and Splash.

take care - Pip

Update:
The vet said, see how she goes without her pain meds. If she looks like she is in pain go back and get more, because its not something they want an animal on Long term!!!
By Tuesday she should be OFF the lactose as well!.. soo YAY!! Because cats make excellent recoveries!

I think my hamster is just in season!! LOL... Cause they disappeared?? LOL

Hi CJ, you know like with people the pain meds for cats might tend to make them a bit constipated.  So go easy on the pain meds because too much might make her digestive tract sluggish.  That's probably why the Vet said that...wait and see how she goes.  You need to go with what the Vet says, they're the experts after all.  I hope your hamster's testicles have settled down.

Ohhh....
I thought it was a laxative.. Well I am going into the vets this morning to pay some of the Bill... she has ran out of pain med, but they said she how she goes before I get any more?? But I dont like the sound of that.. So I will get her more...
And I will ask to make the lactose dose smaller and once a day (which it is already) But wean her off, instead of taking it away??

and thanks!! All my animals seem to get ill at the same time! LOL..

hi Cj, soooo glad to hear Splash is coming along so well for you, what  amazing care you have given her and another chance at a normal life.
I don't think the lactulose is effecting her bladder at all hon, IMO the nerve signals that were damaged have now regenerated and are working again, thus her bowels SHOULD also be returned or soon returned to their normal and she soon shouldn't need the lactulose, if I were you I would start cutting back and see, if she doesn't poo after a day than start using again, but would hurt to see. the lactulose ISN'T a laxative its only a stool softner, therefore it only makes her poo's softer and easier to pass....
good luck with the hamsters!!

My hamsters testicles have gone all funny is all! Might be in season?? I duno, only ever had female hamsters!!!

Splash has been in her bed alot... Think she is sad and Lonely!!! :(... which makes me sad... but the other cats cheer me up kinda, when you open the fridge, Pug jumps in it! and Wash has got in the bin and sleeps in there??? Right next to Splash! But they all stay near Splash! But hopefully in the next week, she will be OFF the lactose completely!
I think because she couldnt use her bowels, she couldnt use her bladder, and where the lactose helped her go for a bowel movement it helped her bladder eventually too?? Does this make sense? Or just luck and love for me that she decided to wee??
Just trying to work it out!! I wanna give her toys but she aint allowed!

By Tuesday next week, I am going to see if I can lower her dose of Lactose to 1mg once a day?? and wean her off, because if I just take it awway, she might get constipated then we'll have to start all over again?? and this also links with above about her bowels affecting her bladder??

She is doing very well other wise. Only 4 and a half weeks left in a crate!! I hope it fly's by!!!

Thank you everyone!

She had a weird moment earlier, She cried, dragged herself to the other side of her cage looked up at the ceiling and started clawing her bars??
But they are SOOO happy with her progress! They think because she couldnt poo thats why she coulldnt wee. So yeah!!
Now I gottta get my Hamster too the vets!!!!!!!!! They all fall ill at the same time on purpose I swear! As well as the fact I need my snakes probed!! LOL!
Ohwell, they're worth it! :)

She isnt meant tooo, but we do have play times! :)

It is inside her crate... Wash puts her paws in and tries to get the bowls! LOL...
They are all piggys. Except Pug and Chalkie, because they dont eat cat meat!

even though she isnt allowed, wwe've been playing with a straw. She has been laying there with her front paws only. And chewing it.. So she has been having play times! And finally Likes belly rubs. Although she did bite me! :@ hahaha,

But she is finally getting betteer. :)
